(1Samuel 8:7…20)And the LORD said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.” “Now therefore, heed their voice. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and show them the behavior of the king who will reign over them.” So Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who asked him for a king. And he said, “This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariotsand to behis horsemen, and some will runbefore his chariots. “He will appointcaptains overhis thousands and captains overhisfifties, will set some to plow his ground and reaphis harvest, and some to make his weapons of war and equipmentfor his chariots. “He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers.”And he will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them tohis servants.“He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage,and giveit to his officers and servants.”

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. (Ezekiel 18:24)But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.

The people of the land shall stone him with stones.I will set My face against that man, and will cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his descendants to Molech, to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name. And if the people of the land should in any way hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech, and they do not kill him, then I will set My face against that man and against his family;and I will cut him off from his people, and all who prostitute themselves with him to commit harlotry with Molech.

(2Kings 23:13)And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israelhad builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.

Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

(Deuteronomy 17:16)But he shall not multiply horsesto himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses:

(1Kings 4:26)And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

Then Hiram went from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, but they did not please him.So he said, “What kind of cities are these which you have given me, my brother?” And he called them the land of Cabul, as they are to this day.

(1Kings 10:23~24)So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. Now all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

(Nehemiah 13:23~26)In those days I also saw Jews who had married women of Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab. And half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod, and could not speak the language of Judah, but spoke according to the language of one or the other people. So I contended with them and cursed them, struck some of them and pulled out their hair,and made them swear by God, saying, “You shall not give your daughters as wives to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons or yourselves. “Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet among many nations there was no king like him, who was beloved of his God; and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless pagan women caused even him to sin. “Should we then hear of your doing all this great evil, transgressing against our God by marrying pagan women?”

14~18He (David) gave goldby weight for things of gold, for all articles used in every kind of service; also silverfor all articles of silverby weight, for all articles used in every kind of service; the weight for the lampstands of gold, and their lamps of gold, by weight for each lampstand and its lamps; for the lampstands of silver by weight, for the lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand. And by weight he gave gold for the tables of the showbread, for each table, and silver for the tables of silver; also pure gold for the forks, the basins, the pitchers of pure gold, and the golden bowls-he gave gold by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls, silver by weight for every bowl; and refined gold by weight for the altar of incense, and for the construction of the chariot, that is, the gold cherubim that spread their wings and overshadowed the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
19“All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understandin writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans.”

(1Chronicles 29:1-5)Furthermore King David said to all the assembly: “My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced; and the work is great, because the temple is not for man but for the LORD God. “Now for the house of my God I have prepared with all my might: gold for things to be made of gold, silver for things of silver, bronze for things of bronze, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood, onyx stones, stones to be set, glistening stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble slabs in abundance.”Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver:

(1Chronicles 29:14~19)But who am I,and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? (1Kings 6:1)And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth yearof Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

(1Kings 6:37-38)In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv. 38And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its details and according to all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.

(1Kings 7:8)And the house where he dwelt had another court inside the hall, of like workmanship. Solomon also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken as wife.

(1Kings 5:13~16)Then King Solomon raised up a labor force out of all Israel; and the labor force was thirty thousand men.And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month in shifts: they were one month in Lebanon and two months at home; Adoniram was in charge of the labor force. Solomon had seventy thousand who carried burdens, and eighty thousand who quarried stone in the mountains, besides three thousand three hundredfrom the chiefs of Solomon’s deputies,who supervised the people who labored in the work.

And how does a wise man die? As the fool! 17Therefore Ihated lifebecause the work that was done under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping for the wind. 18ThenIhated all my laborin which Ihad toiled under the sun, because Imust leave it to the man who will come after me.19And who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Yet he will rule over all my labor in which I toiled and in which I have shown myselfwise under the sun. (Luke 12:16~21) Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich manyielded plentifully.” And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall Ido, since I have no room to store my crops?'” So he said, ‘Iwill do this: Iwill pull down mybarns and build greater, and thereIwill store all mycrops and mygoods. ‘And Iwill say to mysoul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.“‘ “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

(Ecclesiastes 8:15)So I commended enjoyment, because a man has nothing better under the sun than to eat, drink, and be merry;for this will remain with him in his labor all the days of his life which God gives him under the sun.
